New signing in ‘Campus House Style’ are installed at buildings and parking lots all over the Campus. New floor maps will follow soon, making it easier for visitors, students and (new) tenants to find their way over the Campus. The upgrade of the signing is a first step in an integral project to optimize the access to, traffic over and parking at the Campus, which will be implemented in the course of this year.
Part of the project is the introduction of new, Campus-specific online safety instructions instead of the current Chemelot gate instruction. The new instructions, necessary to get access to the Campus, will be tailor made for the different target groups (i.e. visitors, students, employees, contractors). Contractors will only get access to the Campus via the new entrance at the north side of building 121-220 and use the parking P3 next to the Duty Officer’s building 121-250. Access with vehicles to the Campus will be limited and parking is only allowed at dedicated contractor parking spaces at the buildings. This reduces the amount of traffic and parking on the roads and in the shared space, thus improving traffic safety. The Pilot Plant area will be closed off by barriers and tourniquets, limiting the access of vehicles and people to those who have business there. The goal of this measure is to achieve a higher level of safety and security in the Pilot Plant area. As stated earlier, the various measures will be implemented in the course of this year. Before implementation there will be extensive communication to the entire Campus Community and more specific to the employees and contractors involved.
