Rachèl too is now convinced of the advantages of the e-bike. Two years ago, Rachèl, Service Manager at Brightlands Chemelot Campus, visited a bike shop and realised the advantages were so appealing that she immediately made the switch from city bike to e-bike. And until this day, she cycles from Puth (9 km) to work with her e-bike!
“I’d rather take the e-bike than the car”, says Rachèl. “It takes me just as long to get to work with my bike as with my car. And this way, I also get my 30 minutes of exercise every day. Also important: the extra (electronic) push in the back ensures that I don’t arrive at work all sweaty, but wonderfully fresh.”
Many people think that because of the electronic propulsion you don’t have to make an effort. “That is not true at all”, Rachèl explains. “You still have to make the pedalling movement and you can also adjust your own gear. To challenge yourself, you can put your gear into a lower position. The faster you go, the faster the engine will work. And exactly because of this, cycling with an e-bike is so much more relaxing. After work, I can clear my head and enjoy nature. I really see the e-bike as a replacement of my car. Because no matter what the weather is like, as soon as you start using the e-bike, you will leave your car at home more often!”
Would you also like to test the e-bike and experience the difference yourself? As campus resident you can now try an e-bike for one week, free of charge. Sign up on ontdekdeebike.nl and make your booking.
