How are you saying farewell to summer? Are you heading abroad for an extra dose of Vitamin D or are you embracing autumn at home? If you’re staying at home we’d love to boost your spirits with a proper autumn powerhouse: pumpkin. Pumpkin is rich in fibre, protein, Vitamin A and C and can be used in all kinds of dishes: perfect in an oriental soup or oven dish, a sweet cake or simply nice and crunchy from the oven. Did you know pumpkin is edible from skin to seed? The flesh tastes extra sweet and has a firm bite when roasted in the oven. Pumpkin seeds are super healthy due to their high Vitamin E, magnesium and selenium content.
The benefits of super soups: warmth + comfort + nutritious
Autumn is the perfect season for soup. You’d be surprised by the amount of tastiness you can fit into a bowl of soup and you can make it as nutritious as you like. Add plenty of fresh vegetables, some legumes and fresh herbs and this bowl of happiness can pass as a proper meal! An easy way to get in some more vegetables. Plus it’s a great way to maintain your fluid balance. You should definitely come and try our soup on the 10th of October. We’re celebrating Sustainability Day by serving a special soup. This soup comes from De Verspillingsfabriek (The Waste Factory) and is made with rescued vegetables. These vegetables have been rejected because of their looks, but still taste perfectly fine. Most employees at the factory have a disadvantage on the labour market, which means you’re not only fighting food waste, but also the waste of talent. This soup can rightly be called sustainable!
