Meet Jacqueline Wenting: the Brightlands Chemelot Talent Day’s project leader
On November 10, 2017 the very first Brightlands Chemelot Talent Day is organized. During the event, students will discover opportunities for education and careers in Chemistry & Materials at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus and Chemelot Industrial Park. A comprehensive programme is planned. They can also find out if they would like to become part of the Brightlands Chemelot Campus’ exclusive ecosystem.
“I’m the project manager of the first edition of the Brightlands Chemelot Talent Day, which will take place on November 10. The Brightlands Chemelot Talent Day is a day where we would like to inspire students, whilst spreading an awareness of the opportunities that exist here to study and develop your career. But that’s not all; this project contributes to Chemelot Industrial Park and Brightlands Chemelot Campus’ ambition to become the most competitive and sustainable chemicals and materials site in Western Europe. To achieve this challenging goal we need sufficient qualified students and staff.”
Attract the very best talent
About 30 companies and institutes from the campus and site are involved in this initiative, to help position the Chemelot community to the talent of the future. Over 230 students are expected to attend the Chemelot Talent Day from the main (Technical) Universities in Eindhoven, Delft, Twente, Wageningen, Amsterdam and Leiden, as well as many HBO and MBO students from the region.
“Although the four initiators of the Brightlands Chemelot Talent Day have their own agenda and culture, they all share a common interest: to attract the very best talent to the courses offered at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus, as well as attracting enough suitable talent to fill the more than 3000 vacancies expected to arise over the next ten years in research, production, small start-ups and large multinationals.”
A successful project
“It was terrific to experience the eagerness showed by the participating companies and institutes resident on the campus and site. Also the positive feedback we’ve received about our collaboration in attracting and developing talent for the future. The enthusiasm from students and key contacts at the educational institutes countrywide which have registered have formed the required ingredients for a very successful project!”
If you’re not participating in the organization of this first edition of the Talent Day on 10 November, you are more than welcome to visit on the day. A good introduction to the next edition in 2018!
