What do a pair of jeans, beer from filtered rainwater, and an electric car have in common? These are examples of collaboration between educational institutes and companies. Check out the pop-up exhibition in Center Court.
Katapult is a network of educational institutes in the Netherlands, and organizer of the pop-up exhibition that is on display in Center Court till the end of March.
“With Katapult we’re boosting the knowledge for tomorrow,” says Gerard Adema, ambassador for Katapult. Katapult is a Dutch network of over 150 consortia between education and industry. Currently, 50,000 students, 6,000 companies, and 4,000 teachers in all regions and branches are promoting this collaboration to improve the vocational education of the future.
Chemelot Innovation and Learning Labs at our campus is – since 2011 – one of the first members of this network.
Adema says: “The regional consortia in Katapult are extremely valuable for the development of the vocational education in the Netherlands, and thus for the labor market and for society. From bio-based to water technology. From creative industry to nanotechnology.”
Katapult is not just a network. It’s also a knowledge base and a movement. The Katapult pop-up exhibition, which is on display in Center until the end of March, shows where this movement is heading. Go to Center Court (Level 1) and check it out!
