As from April 1, 2018, the whole Brightlands Chemelot Campus is a non-smoking area. This means that the few smoking facilities at the campus that were still left, are taken out of operation.
The removal of the remaining smoking facilities in the Buildings 20 and 30 was decided by the campus Community Board. It is an effort to further improve the campus residents’ working environment regarding health and order & cleanliness. Moreover, the existing rule that smoking is not allowed at the campus is now more consistent.
Non-smoking means: nowhere!
The campus being a non-smoking area means that smoking is strictly forbidden everywhere. So, no smoking inside buildings and outside buildings. Not in parking areas and not in front of Gate 2. Signs at the campus access road indicate the non-smoking area limits.
The prohibition is not only motivated by health, but also by safety, since the campus is part of a chemical site where dangerous goods are handled.
We urge you to alert your visitors that smoking is not allowed at the campus. It is recommended to provide this information (also) at the beginning of meetings. Upon request we can provide a slide, please contact Astrid Verberne, astrid.verberne@brightlands.com
