A couple of Brightlands running fanatics joined this annual run event through historical Maastricht. They started their preparations a few weeks ago. For some this was going to be their first ever 5km race event, for others it was more a case of chasing a personal best on the 10km or 10 mile run. Even though each personal goal was different, there was a good team vibe during the trainings.
The race went really well thanks to a lot of support along the road and plenty of water supply. According to Venetia Berk, the Running Coach: “Once you’ve reached your target the feeling is overwhelming. I think I speak for most runners from Brightlands when I say that the vibe in Maastricht was tremendous. To top this all up every participant received a piece of Limburgs Vlaai after the finish together with a beautiful medal to be very proud of. This event is surely one to remember, and to be repeated in the future!
Speaking from a trainers point of view I’m very proud of each participant from Brightlands. I love to see the dynamics in the group, the perseverance, that we are there for each other. Each individual did his best, achieved more that he or she came for. I myself am very proud to be the 1st lady to cross the finish line. Together with Bianca van Bree who became 3rd we had the honour to stand on the podium. Two ladies from Brightlands, that’s just great!
