On November 9, we had the pleasure to receive 56 JCI members. This international group was visiting the world congress in Amsterdam. Local JCI chapters with representatives from Brightlands and Chemelot joined to organize an ‘escape to the bright side of life’.
At Brightlands Chemelot Campus, presentations were given on the plans of the government, education and businesses for achieve three goals: develop sustainable materials, improve education and create more jobs. A proud depute of Economic Affairs of the Province of Limburg Twan Beurskens welcomed all visitors. During his presentation, he talked about the importance of Brightlands and Chemelot for the region, but also internationally. Then Patrick van der Meer, Director of Dealflow Brightlands Innovation Factory, took the floor. He presented the role and focus areas of Brightlands and explained how is it organized. He also showed what can be offered to start-ups. After a short tour through Center Court, Leon Jacobs of SABIC talked about SABIC’s perspective on sustainable plastics and the challenges that lie ahead.
After an informative morning, the group continued to Maastricht for a cultural and tasty tour.
