The Brightlands Chemelot Campus Community is looking back at a successful safety week: “The Safety, Health, Environment & Security department of the Brightlands Chemelot Campus organized this safety week together with the SHE&S council and the community board members. The topic for this safety week was chosen as follow up of the evaluation of the evacuation exercises in 2018. ‘Be aware of your environment. Be self-reliant in case of a siren alarm and/or evacuation of a building on the Campus.’
Before the start of the Safety week, two briefing sessions were organized to train designated persons from different companies and institutes on Campus to act as safety guides during the safety week. We were very pleased to see the safety guides holding coordinated evacuations in the buildings on Campus to the new assembly points. Alongside, the sharing of the safety performance of the Brightlands Chemelot Campus was introduced by displaying continuously at the so called ‘safety wall’ in the central hall of the Center Court building.
The safety performance is also displayed on the narrow casting of the coffee machines on Campus. Every community member can learn about the monthly frequency index, kind of incidents and location of the incidents. Safety is a common responsibility, our common responsibility! Let’s keep on working together to ensure that everybody acts consciously and returns home again safely from the Brightlands Chemelot Campus.”
