November 3 and 4, Chemelot InSciTe had its first Annual Meeting “Building Bridges”. There were two Brightlands Award winners, for the best poster and the best presentation.
Chemelot InSciTe, the public-private knowledge and valorization institute, held her 1st annual meeting ‘Building Bridges’ on Thursday the 3rd and Friday the 4th of November in Nijkerk, The Netherlands.
During this vibrant 2-day event, the two InSciTe research lines, Biomedical and Biobased, presented their running projects to almost 100 attendees. Among the attendees and speakers where the InSciTe staff, researchers and reresentatives of a.o. Xilloc Medical, DSM, Maastricht UMC+, TU/e, Neuroplast en Fujifilm Manufacturing Europe B.V.
Next to keynote lectures and divers project presentations, there was also a ‘Poster Session’, in which each project presenter could present its objectives and merits on a single poster.
Brightlands generously granted a Poster Award, for the best project, based on the assessment of a jury. Additionally, project presenters could win a Presentation Award, for the best presentation. Both awards were given in the closing session on Friday.
The Brightlands Poster Award was given to Panos Kouris (TU/e), who achieved the highest score from the Jury with his poster ‘Developing a feasible process for 2G-lignin conversion into biofuels and chemicals’. The Brightlands Presentation Award was given to Ashley Heuijerjans (TU/e) for her presentation ‘Investigating the Biomechanical Effect of a Polymeric implant on the Surrounding Cartialge Tissue’. The € 500 prizes were awarded by Emiel Staring, Managing Director of Chemelot InSciTe.
