Local entrepreneurs were awarded the Brilliant Business Awards, an initiative of the municipalities of Sittard-Geleen, Stein, and Beek. The award ceremony was in Center Court.
For outstanding entrepreneurs in these three municipalities there were prices in three categories. The “Pearl” was won by Brewery De Fontein, being the most customer and service-oriented company in catering, retail, and services.
The “Ruby” was awarded to Bie Bijen Veterinarians, because this company had become an important player in their line of business, with future potential.
Finally, the “Diamant” was won by Daily Fresh Food, because this company has been economically successful with their ideas, designs, or concepts.
The award ceremony was concluded by a keynote speech by Annemarie van Gaal, a well-known, successful Dutch entrepreneur.
Although the winning companies are not located at the campus, the award ceremony provided an occasion for many people to visit the campus for the first time.
