March 2, a group of secretaries and management assistants went to Chemelot Industrial Park to visit VYNOVA Beek, one of the chemical plants on site.
The lunch meeting for Brightlands Secretary United was hosted by VYNOVA Beek at Chemelot Industrial Park, or ‘the PVC plant at South’, as it is commonly referred to. Management Assistant Idalien Zelihsen-Ruijpers welcomed 15 secretaries from different companies. Product Quality Engineer Robert Schreurs gave a nice and clear explanation about the companyand the plant. All secretaries were surprised by the diversity in applications and the high quality level of the production process.
Although the company name is VYNOVA only since 2015, it has already a long history. It all started in 1972 as a joint venture between Tessenderlo Chemie and DSM, called the Limburg Vinyl Company (LVM). Later, the company name was changed to INEOS Chlorvinyls and now, since 2015, it is VYNOVA. The name has been deliberately chosen (‘nova’ is new).
The VYNOVA branches are in Belgium, Germany, France, England, and the Netherlands. The application area of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is very wide: from the medical world (infusions, tubes) to construction (pipes, electrical cables, window frames) and rainwear.
