The Vitality break on 28 September attracted many new sports enthusiasts to the Center Court. The new set-up – a short programme during the lunch break offering a range of sports – yielded almost 80 sportsmen and women! Enthusiastic participants joining in on the Core stability training, eager groups of basketball players and excited badminton players ensured the competitive edge to the atmosphere and, best of all, oodles of fun. Our colleagues from Hutten ensured there were lashings of fresh cool water on hand and a delicious, healthy lunch afterwards!
Brightlands’ Jacqueline Wenting seriously went for it with the Total Body Training for the very first time and was declared the winner: “What a training session! And it sparked a boost of vitality for the afternoon. It certainly had me signing up for the training on a weekly basis.”
Airliquide’s Chris Berends is usually a devoted participant in the Vitality Running Team but this time, along with Maurice Olivers and Torres Alvaro, formed part of the winning occasional basketball team:“Triple teaming; unfortunately for us, being a bit smaller, no dunks but loads of downtowns, assists and a true Brightlands spirit. I wonder who invented this 3-3 basketball game. Let’s do more! Thanks Brightlands Vitality team!”.
Nancy Corstjens and Peter Ysacker of the Fibrant team were declared winners of the mixed badminton duos: “It was a sporty, challenging, social, pleasant break catering to all tastes. These moments bring people together with a lasting energy boost afterwards.”
According to all the participants, the Vitality Break in this form is certainly worth doing again!
