My name is René Schmeitz, I started at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus as a SHE Officer on the first of February 2021.
What is my background?
Originally I studied Chemical Engineering. Later on Environmental technology, MBA and Safety adviser level 1. After completing my studies, I worked in all kinds of jobs at three different companies that manufactures printed circuit boards. At this 3 companies I learned a lot in terms of controlling production processes, environmental aspects and health and safety risks because production of printed circuit boards are complex processes. Unfortunately, this industry has almost completely disappeared out of Europe.
In 2008 I started at Bureau Veritas Inspection and Certification, initially as a Lead auditor in the QHSE sector (Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety and Energy management systems) later as a Technical Manager.
My role at Brightlands Chemelot Campus?
My main role will be the “chemical substances registration” system FindMolecule, environmental permits and conducting audits to establish compliance with BCC’s Environmental permit. In this role, perhaps I will meet you soon.
