with Focus on Circular Material Analysis and Circular Feedstock Analysis
Date: July 13th 2022
Subject
Development Sustainable Analytics Group –
Emerging Positions in the field of Circular Material Analysis and Circular Feedstock Analysis
Context
Brightlands Chemelot Campus and its strategic partners TNO, Maastricht University and Sabic developed the concept of being a leading innovation player in the field of circular chemistry and circular materials. They requested infrastructural support in the Growth Fund proposal Sustainable MaterialsNL called Brightlands Circular Space, which will be the starting point for structural innovation activities to meet the challenges of making the plastic products value chains fully circular. At this moment the Growth Fund subsidy is informally granted (formal granting procedure will be completed in coming months) and the steering committee Brightlands Circular Space brings the concept to the next phase. It is anticipated that Brightlands Circular Space will start activities in January 2023.
Development
Based on this development, Brightlands Chemelot Campus and its strategic partners acknowledged that a Sustainable Analytics Group (“SAG”) should be an integral part of the Brightlands Circular Space. The SAG will focus on Circular Material Analysis and on Circular Feedstock Analysis challenges. Besides the analytical competence the Brightlands Circular Space will consist of additional, complementary competences like Waste Processing Engineering, Mechanical and Chemical Recycling Engineering and Circular Materials Engineering. These competences will support the technological needs of partners and customers of the Brightlands Circular Space to secure high quality recycled products.
On the one hand the SAG will be a partner of knowledge institutes and companies in scientific projects/ -programs thus enabling practical application. In addition SAG will develop analytical know-how and methods to assess quality issues in waste treatment and provide support to product development (designed for recycling and designed from recycling). On the other hand the SAG will serve customers with a focus on the commercial market. SAG will also provide access to high-end analytical infrastructure and services for campus tenants and regional SME’s.
Opportunity
At short notice Brightlands Circular Space and their strategic partners want to start with developing the Brightlands Circular Space concept including the SAG. The SAG group will be operational starting from mid January 2023. The Group will be developed and integrated within the Chemelot Campus bv structure. At the start of the SAG a core group of ca. 10 people with a specialization sustainable analytics will be formed. Currently, the Brightlands Chemelot Campus project team Sustainable Analytics (“project team”) is starting to identify potentially interested individuals for the SAG group. Contracting is foreseen starting in January 2023.

Process
Those who are interested in the positions mentioned above can express their interest by sending their curriculum vitae before Monday the 15th of August to vacatures@brightlands.com. Questions concerning the positions can be addressed to Mrs. Femke Urlings (HR Business Partner) via (femke.urlings@brightlands.com, 06- 29 49 07 59). The project team will make a selection and invites potential suitable candidates.
In the week of July 18th and the week of July 25th the project team will have introductory meetings with those interested. Please contact Mrs. Femke Urlings for such in introductory meeting. These meetings have a dual purpose. On the one hand the project team gets an impression of those interested. On the other hand the interested individuals will receive a more detailed explanation of the set-up of the SAG and there will be an opportunity for questions.
